Many companies report zero profits compared to the same period in the first half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, many companies reported a significant decline in profits compared to the same period last year, even approaching 100% decrease. Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) had pre-tax profits nearly wiped out, with VNA falling from 35 billion to 400 million VND and NTL from 844 billion to 12 billion VND. VNA attributed its profit drop to market instability affecting operations; NTL faced a 90% revenue decline due to a lack of viable business projects. The construction sector was similarly affected, with Hòa Bình (HBC) reporting a profit of 57 billion, down 93% from the previous year. In the securities sector, four companies, including VDSC and Trí Việt Securities, experienced profit declines ranging from 77% to 97%. Additionally, several companies reported significant losses, notably NSH Petro with 332 billion lost, Novaland with 261 billion, and Cảng Phước An with 248 billion. The overall challenges in business operations and legal regulations have created substantial pressure on companies.
