Cash-Rich Giants Pay Off Debts but Still Hold Over Tens of Trillions

According to the Q2 2025 financial report, there are 10 companies on the Vietnamese stock exchange holding over 1 billion USD in cash and short-term deposits. The top 5 companies include Baoviet Holdings, Vingroup, Vinhomes, BSR, and Viettel Global, with Viettel holding over 41 trillion VND in cash, constituting 60% of its total assets. Companies with substantial cash reserves have an advantage during tough fundraising conditions. However, a company’s true strength is measured by its net cash (cash – debts). PV Gas (GAS) leads with over 21.247 trillion VND in reserve even after paying off debts. Other companies like VEAM, BSR, VGI, and SAB also have over 10 trillion VND remaining. The list includes private firms like Sabeco and Vinamilk. If net cash is distributed to shareholders, DGC shares would yield the highest returns at 24,452 VND/share.
