Big Corporations Paying Off Debts Still Holding Tens of Thousands of Billions

According to the Q2/2025 financial report, 10 companies on the Vietnamese stock exchange hold over 1 billion USD in cash and equivalent assets. The top five are: Bao Viet Group (BVH), Vingroup (VIC), Vinhomes (VHM), Binh Son Oil Refinery (BSR), and Viettel (VGI), with VGI holding 41 trillion VND in cash, making up 60% of their assets. Companies with large cash reserves are viewed as having advantages amid funding difficulties. A company’s true strength is measured by its net cash, the difference between cash and debts. PV Gas (GAS) is the first company with surplus cash after paying off debts, remaining with 21.247 trillion VND. Other companies like VEAM, BSR, VGI, and SAB also hold thousands of billions after clearing debts. If the net cash is distributed to shareholders, DGC offers the highest profit of 24,452 VND per share, followed by Phu My Fertilizer and VEAM.
