Vietnam Airlines explains profit increase

Vietnam Airlines (HVN) recently announced its consolidated financial report for the first half of 2025 with impressive results. The number of international routes reached a record of 69, serving 37 destinations in 21 countries. During this period, the airline operated nearly 78,000 flights, transporting 12.6 million passengers, up 11% year-on-year. The consolidated after-tax profit reached 6,442 billion VND, an increase of 19.3%. The company’s leadership attributed the profit growth mainly to a 14.42% increase in service revenue, equivalent to 5,963 billion VND, due to market recovery and the opening of new routes. Vietnam Airlines also plans to raise an additional 9,000 billion VND through a public share offering to increase its capital, having completed a comprehensive recovery and sustainable development plan for the period from 2021 to 2035. The target for the second half of 2025 is to operate 81,000 flights and transport 13.1 million passengers.
