Petrovietnam’s Potential Divestment Shares in BSR Revealed

At the investor meeting on September 8, 2025, BSR stated that Petrovietnam currently owns 92.13% of the shares and will have to reduce its ownership below 90% according to legal requirements, leading to a potential divestment of 2.13%. BSR is seeking a strategic partner for financial support and crude oil supply. The company is finalizing a plan to increase its charter capital by 61.5%, reaching VND 50 trillion. The BSR-BF plant is expected to restart in November 2025 to meet domestic ethanol demand as E10 gasoline is set to be introduced in 2026. BSR plans to prioritize equity for its upgrade project, expected to be completed in 2028 with a 15% increase in capacity. In the first half of the year, revenue reached VND 68.7 trillion, a 25% increase, but profit decreased by 35% compared to the previous year.
