The U.S. Treasury has introduced the GENIUS Act to regulate stablecoins for the first time at the federal level. This groundbreaking legislation requires that all stablecoins must be fully backed by liquid assets.
In line with the GENIUS Act, stablecoins will be held to strict oversight measures to ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards and other regulatory requirements. The public comment period is open until October 20, 2025.
