The 2024 report for 21 major companies in Vietnam indicates a low female employee ratio, especially in heavy industry, with Hoa Phat (HPG) having only 12% females. The banking sector shows a higher female ratio, around 60%, but Sacombank is an exception with only 48.28% female employees. At Vingroup (VIC), while only 37.3% of the workforce is female, 59% of management positions are held by women. Pham Nhat Vuong asserts that women possess strengths in management roles, explaining the high percentage of female leaders in the group. Conversely, at Vinhomes, the female management ratio is only 28.7%. At Masan Group (MSN), despite 62.4% of employees being female, only 43% are in management. The low proportion of female managers in banks like LPBank, MB, and HDBank reflects challenges in women’s career advancement. Despite accounting for over 70% of the labor force, Vietnamese women hold only about 25% of leadership positions.
