HCMC Requests Financial Department to Review Vingroup’s Proposal for Sea Bridge by October 10th

The HCMC People’s Committee has recently tasked the Financial Department with promptly reviewing Vingroup’s proposal to research and invest in a sea bridge connecting Can Gio and Ba Ria – Vung Tau under the BT (Build-Transfer) model. Vice Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong has requested that this proposal be completed by October 10, 2025. Vingroup emphasizes that the bridge is necessary after Ba Ria – Vung Tau merges into HCMC to enhance connectivity and boost socio-economic development. The sea bridge will significantly reduce travel time between Can Gio and Vung Tau, currently only accessible by ferry. Additionally, Vingroup plans to invest in the Can Gio coastal tourism urban area and a metro line connecting Can Gio with the HCMC city center. This project is anticipated to transform the Can Gio area into a new gateway for the city.
