On September 30, the Ministry of Construction approved Vietnam Airlines as the investor for three air logistics projects at Long Thanh International Airport with a total investment of 5.602 trillion VND. The largest project is the “Construction and Operation of Cargo Terminal No. 2” with an estimated investment of 4.384 trillion VND, expected to handle 550,000 tons of cargo per year. The other two projects are Cargo Handling Warehouses No. 5, 6, 7, and 8 with an investment of 1.015 trillion VND and a fast-track cargo terminal with 203 billion VND, capable of handling 650,000 tons and 100,000 tons of cargo per year, respectively. Construction is planned from 2025 to 2026, with operations running until December 31, 2050. Vietnam Airlines also raised nearly 9 trillion VND from a share offering.
