Starting October 14, 2025, Coinbase will permanently disable trading of Polygon MATIC, converting all remaining balances to POL at a 1:1 ratio. This decision completes Polygon’s transition to its new ecosystem token.
As of September 3, 2025, 99% of all MATIC has successfully migrated to POL, demonstrating significant progress in the transition. Users have a brief period from October 14 to 18 to transfer tokens before automatic conversion.
Despite ongoing advancements and upgrades within Polygon, POL’s price has fallen approximately 40.5% since the migration process began. Currently, POL trades at 0.2273 USD, reflecting caution among traders in a volatile market.
