On October 14, 2025, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong’s net worth increased by 2.2 billion USD to 20.3 billion USD, ranking him 116th among the world’s billionaires and the richest man in Vietnam. This surge was primarily due to VIC stock rising nearly 7% in the morning session, reaching 219,700 VND per share, a record high since its listing. Since the beginning of the year, VIC’s price has jumped 5.3 times. Besides VIC, VHM and VRE stocks have also seen significant increases. Billionaire Vuong is not the only beneficiary; his wife, Pham Thu Huong, has also seen her wealth rise to nearly 38 trillion VND, placing her fourth on the Vietnam stock exchange. The rise in VIC’s value is attributed to plans for a share issuance to increase capital and studies on infrastructure investment projects. Vuong has also contributed over 60 million VIC shares to VinEnergo for investments in the energy sector.
