Salesforce faces class action lawsuit regarding alleged improper use of AI training data

Salesforce has been accused of infringing copyrights by using nearly 200,000 pirated books for its XGen AI models. This action is initiated by authors E. Molly Tanzer and Jennifer Gilmore, who are seeking damages and legal recognition of the infringement.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has pointed out the prevalent issue of data theft in the AI industry, claiming that training data is often sourced from unauthorized materials. The case may face complications due to recent legal rulings in similar matters.
