Vietnam Airlines has unprecedented cash, Q3 net profit exceeds 600 billion

In Q3 2025, Vietnam Airlines (HVN) reported a total revenue of 30.371 trillion VND, an increase of 13% year-on-year. However, net profit decreased by nearly 20%, to 617 billion VND, due to rising costs and declining financial revenue. For the first nine months, total revenue was 88.922 trillion VND (up 11%) and net profit reached 6.874 trillion VND (up 15%). After issuing 897 million shares, the charter capital increased to 31.115 trillion VND, with cash reserves nearing 18.200 trillion VND, accounting for about 25% of total assets. Despite reporting a positive profit since early 2024, by 30/9/2025, the company still has a cumulative loss of over 27 trillion VND. The figures show that Vietnam Airlines transported 6.7 million passengers in Q3, up 11%, and nearly 19.4 million passengers in the first nine months, an increase of 12.3%. International passengers are projected to reach 34.5 million, while domestic passengers increased by 7.2%.
