California regulator imposes $675,000 fine on Bitcoin ATM operator Coinhub for law violations

California’s Department of Financial Protection and Innovation has imposed a fine of $675,000 on Coinhub for violating digital asset laws. Of this, $105,000 is meant for restitution to consumers who were overcharged.

This enforcement action marks the fourth such incident by regulators targeting crypto ATM operators in recent months, aiming to protect consumers against exploitation by such services.
