Since late 2021, Mayor Francis Suarez has been earning his salary in Bitcoin, which he claims has risen by about 300%, from 30,000 USD to 120,000 USD.
Suarez is not troubled by Bitcoin’s market volatility and prefers discussing macroeconomic effects and the progress of decentralized finance over small daily price changes.
