At the end of the year, the dividend harvest season begins for Thai billionaires as leading Vietnamese companies like Vinamilk, Sabeco, and Binh Minh Plastic distribute substantial dividends. It is estimated that Thai corporations have pocketed around 35 trillion VND (1.3 billion USD) in dividends.
Vinamilk is the largest contributor to billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, with approximately 16.5 trillion VND in dividends due to its high payout ratio of 40-60% annually. His organization became a significant shareholder after acquiring Fraser & Neave in 2013.
Sabeco also provided him with around 15.5 trillion VND in dividends after his takeover; despite current equity value being only about 1.2 billion USD, he previously invested nearly 5 billion USD in the acquisition.
Binh Minh Plastic has distributed nearly 3 trillion VND in dividends to Nawaplastic from SCG (Thailand) since becoming a major shareholder in 2012, allowing for a swift recovery of initial investment.
In addition to these prominent companies, various others consistently yield dividends for Thai investors in Vietnam.
