New Bitcoin ATMs labeled “Bankless Bitcoin” are appearing in major shopping malls in Nairobi, which follows the implementation of Kenya’s Virtual Assets Service Providers Act of 2025.
Despite the new law, no Virtual Assets Service Providers are licensed yet, prompting the Central Bank of Kenya to warn businesses claiming authorization of operating illegally.
