Bitcoin Core successfully completes its first third-party security audit with no major vulnerabilities found

The French company Quarkslab carried out the audit for the OSTIF and Brink organizations. Auditors examined the P2P layer and block verification logic within Bitcoin Core’s extensive codebase of over 200,000 lines.

Only two low-severity issues were identified, with additional suggestions for improvements. Importantly, no significant vulnerabilities were found, affirming Bitcoin Core’s robustness in securing the network.
