The US Department of Homeland Security has launched an investigation into Bitmain, a Bitcoin mining hardware manufacturer, citing potential national security risks. This operation, referred to as ‘Operation Red Sunset’, primarily examines whether Bitmain’s products pose a threat.
Bitmain claims it adheres to US regulations and has not participated in any illicit activities related to national security. The company stated it is unaware of the investigation and emphasizes that prior device seizures were part of standard regulatory processes.
