A major shareholder will completely divest from the airline chaired by Bầu Hiển’s son

Vietravel Joint Stock Company (VTR) has announced plans to completely divest its stake in Vietravel Airlines before December 31, 2025. Vietravel Airlines has a charter capital of 2.25 trillion VND, with Vietravel holding 8.2% or 18.4 million shares. The divestment value is determined to be less than 10% of Vietravel’s total assets, which exceeds 3.13 trillion VND. Currently, the largest shareholder is Nguyễn Thủy Tiên, owning 20.94% of the shares. After Vietravel withdraws its capital, remaining shareholders will include Vietravel Group, T&T Airlines, and individual shareholders. This is a step in reducing investment in Vietravel Airlines, which was founded by Vietravel, and has transferred shares to T&T Group. Đỗ Vinh Quang is currently the Chairman of Vietravel Airlines, with T&T Group in leadership roles. Additionally, low-cost airline AirAsia from Malaysia is negotiating to purchase shares in Vietravel Airlines, as the Vietnamese market is rapidly growing.
