China’s central bank discusses measures against virtual currency speculation

The People’s Bank of China met to discuss the coordination efforts against virtual currency speculation, emphasizing that these currencies lack legal status.

The bank declared virtual currencies as illegal for use, reaffirming their non-compliance with legal tender regulations.

Concerns were raised over stablecoins, noting their association with money laundering and funding fraud due to insufficient customer identification measures.
