Save the Children unveils new Bitcoin fund to accelerate emergency payments

Save the Children launched a Bitcoin fund aimed at increasing the speed of cash assistance during emergencies. This innovative initiative is designed to hold donations securely for up to four years, facilitating faster deployment during humanitarian crises.

The organization seeks to bypass traditional banking failures during disasters by utilizing cryptocurrencies. As stated by Antonia Roupell, this flexibility allows donors to optimize their contributions to maximize impact.

Having accepted Bitcoin since 2013, Save the Children has raised significant funds for children impacted by global conflicts. Janti Soeripto, the CEO of Save the Children U.S., emphasizes the importance of financial agility in relief operations.
