The Republic of the Marshall Islands has executed the first ever on-chain Universal Basic Income (UBI) distribution through the Stellar blockchain, featuring the dollar-backed sovereign bond, USDM1.
Partnering with Stellar Development Foundation and Crossmint, this initiative replaces cash distributions with digital transfers and ensures legal compliance through U.S. Treasury securities.
