On December 16, VNG Cloud and GreenNode officially merged under the GreenNode brand, marking an important step in the “AI-first” strategy of VNG Group, the first technology unicorn in Vietnam. Kelly Wong, CEO of VNG, explained that the merger is to restructure the infrastructure, recognizing that AI and Cloud are no longer separate but work together for a common goal. The merger will strengthen GreenNode’s position in Vietnam and expand into Southeast Asia, enhancing competitiveness and market responsiveness. GreenNode will provide both traditional Cloud and high-performance AI Cloud on a single platform, making it easier for customers to deploy AI applications with high quality and data compliance. Vu Thanh Tung, CEO of GreenNode, stated that the shift to AI Cloud is a result of nearly 20 years of experience building infrastructure at VNG. Before the merger, VNG Cloud served over 1,000 customers, while GreenNode aims to expand the AI Cloud market in the region.
