Thai billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, through F&N Dairy Investments, has purchased shares in Vinamilk worth VND 6 trillion, raising his ownership to 25%, making him the second-largest shareholder after SCIC. Vinamilk is viewed as a “cash machine,” having generated approximately VND 16.5 trillion in dividends.
Charoen has executed several major deals in Vietnam, including the acquisition of Metro Cash & Carry and controlling shares in Sabeco, totaling billions of dollars. Despite Sabeco’s current share price being lower than the purchase price, its revenue still constitutes a significant portion of the group’s finances.
In addition to production, Charoen’s investment portfolio also extends to industrial real estate and distribution, creating a complete value chain. Frasers Property Vietnam, led by him, is heavily investing in industrial real estate and is implementing numerous projects in both northern and southern Vietnam, with notable hotel projects such as Melia Hanoi and various office buildings.
