Officially Commences Commercial Operation of 1.4 Billion USD LNG Power Project in Vietnam

On January 5, GE Vernova announced the commercial operation of Nhơn Trạch 3 and 4 power plants, invested by PV Power, with a total investment of approximately 1.4 billion USD. Located in Đồng Nai, the project has a total capacity of 1,624MW, expected to provide 9-12 billion kWh of electricity annually, to meet the increasing demand in Southern Vietnam. This is the first plant to use H-Class gas turbines and liquefied natural gas (LNG), featuring high efficiency and reducing carbon emissions by about 60% compared to coal-fired power plants. The project also integrates technology allowing flexible fuel switching from LNG to hydrogen, marking a significant step in sustainable energy transition. PV Power plans to achieve a total electricity output of 18.8 billion kWh in 2025, maintaining its position as the second-largest electricity producer in the market, with a target of 21.6 billion kWh by 2026.
