Many billion-dollar companies face the risk of losing public status

Many large businesses in Vietnam, such as PV GAS, BSR, ACV, and state-owned banks, are facing the risk of losing their public company status due to not meeting the requirements for minority shareholder ratios. PV GAS announced it was not eligible after the PVN holding 95.76% of shares. This situation also occurs at PV GAS D and other companies. According to regulations, a company must have at least 10% of shares held by 100 minority investors. Many large companies have lost their public status recently, causing their shares to no longer meet listing requirements. These companies are seeking solutions to reduce the percentage of large shareholders, such as divesting or issuing more shares to the public in order to maintain their public status.
