Netherlands plans to tax annual capital gains on various assets from 2028

The Dutch House of Representatives is discussing a plan to implement annual capital gains tax on stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrencies, which would take effect in 2028.

Despite concerns over taxing unrealized gains, the proposal is likely to pass due to the potential for boosting annual revenue by 2.3 billion euros.
