The U.S. Treasury’s OFAC has sanctioned UK-based crypto exchanges Zedcex and Zedxion for their involvement in helping Iran evade financial sanctions.
This action marks the first targeting of digital asset exchanges by the OFAC due to their connections with Iran’s financial sector.
In addition to the exchanges, the OFAC designated seven Iranian individuals, including six with ties to the IRGC.
Over 389 million USD has been processed through addresses related to these sanctions.
