Federal Reserve President Barkin: Rate cuts support job market while final adjustments needed for inflation

Richmond Federal Reserve President Barkin affirmed that the interest rate cuts of 1.75 percentage points since late 2024 have fortified the job market’s health while addressing inflation concerns.

Despite low unemployment rates, inflation is 1% above the target. Barkin stressed the importance of accurate inflation data for future economic predictions.
