On March 9, the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports announced information regarding the relocation of the Polytechnic University at 268 Ly Thuong Kiet. Currently, there is no specific decision on the use of this land for commercial purposes. The city is researching the land usage plan, with nearly 40 ha already allocated for the new campus in the National University Urban Area to alleviate urban infrastructure pressure.
This relocation aims to reorganize urban space, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance the educational capacity. The government will decide on this adjustment in collaboration with relevant agencies. Phat Dat Real Estate Development Co. (PDR) has submitted a proposal to participate in this process, suggesting to research the use of the existing 14.2 ha of land after the university’s relocation, to develop additional educational infrastructure and relieve traffic pressure.
