25-Year Capital Race

July 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Vietnamese stock market’s official operation, starting with just 2 stocks. By 2005, significant companies like Vinh Son Song Hinh (VSH) emerged with a market capitalization of 16 trillion VND. Notably, Vinamilk (VNM) listed in 2006, doubling the HOSE’s market capitalization. Vietnam’s WTO accession led to a surge of listings, with big names like FPT and Vietcombank (VCB) becoming prominent players. Today, VCB leads with a capitalization exceeding 476 trillion VND. The market now has over 50 companies valued over 1 billion USD, including notable firms like Masan Group and Eximbank. Upcoming, the Techcom Securities Company plans to IPO, promising further market growth.
