A significant donation of over 46 million USD in Bitcoin from convicted criminal Tomáš Jiřikovský to the Czech Ministry of Justice has plunged the coalition government into turmoil, prompting a no-confidence vote on June 17.
Prime Minister Petr Fiala admitted that the controversial donation has created a trust issue in state institutions, vowing to investigate further. The likelihood of the no-confidence vote passing is low, with opposition parties lacking a majority.
The new Minister of Justice, Eva Decroix, committed to clarifying the donation details, with additional information expected after a government discussion and audit by the end of July.
