The ADP report for April 2025 highlights a mere addition of 62,000 jobs, falling drastically below analyst expectations of 114,000 to 125,000. This slowdown underscores the adverse effects of tariff uncertainties on the job market.
The leisure and hospitality sector led job additions with 27,000, while the education and health services sector saw a decline of 23,000 jobs, showcasing significant challenges faced in various sectors.
Wage growth has also decelerated, with a 4.5% increase for job stayers in April, indicating an increase in wages, but lower than previous months, reflecting overall economic pressure.
