Alibaba is opening new data centers in Southeast Asia

Alibaba Cloud has opened its third data center in Malaysia to boost computing power for regional businesses and governments. A second center is set to launch in the Philippines, addressing demand for AI-based services.

In Singapore, Alibaba is setting up a Global AI Competency Center, aiming to train 100,000 developers and support over 5,000 businesses with AI tools and resources, facilitating collaborative workshops and technical support.

Alibaba plans to invest 53 billion USD in AI and cloud infrastructure globally within three years. This move indicates the company’s strong faith in Southeast Asia’s digital growth and its commitment to fostering innovation.
