The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will prohibit promotional ads related to cryptocurrency, tobacco, and alcohol during the upcoming IPL 2025, starting March 22. This follows a health ministry order aimed at promoting healthier choices in advertisements.
In past seasons, BCCI has enforced advertising regulations, identifying 14 brands violating these rules last year. As the board prepares for IPL and the Women’s ODI World Cup, stricter guidelines are anticipated to maintain compliance.
