Belarusian president advocates for increased cryptocurrency adoption amid sanctions

President Lukashenko has directed banks to enhance their cryptocurrency services, acknowledging the adverse effects of sanctions on the economy. By 2026, the number of crypto users in Belarus is expected to surpass 855,000.

Emphasizing the need for modern payment solutions, Lukashenko called for the implementation of biometric technologies and a robust regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.
