Bhutan has introduced a national crypto payment system for tourists, allowing them to pay with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Binance Coin. This initiative addresses cash shortages and improves payment speed for local vendors.
Named “One Wallet, One Journey,” the system supports over 100 cryptocurrencies, featuring instant QR code transactions and zero gas fees. Local vendors can now benefit from quicker and cheaper transactions.
Bhutan’s integration of crypto into its reserves signals a shift towards innovation and stability in the digital asset environment, positioning it as a pioneer in crypto adoption focused on gross national happiness.
