On June 9, the Board of Directors of Vingroup approved the partnership with VinEnergo to invest in the LNG Thermal Power Plant project at Tân Trào Industrial Park, Hải Phòng. The project spans approximately 98.515 hectares with a total designed capacity of 4,800 MW, divided into two phases: 1,600 MW for the first phase and 3,200 MW for the second phase. The operational period will not exceed 50 years. The board granted the CEO the authority to finalize contracts related to the project. Vingroup also plans to develop numerous renewable energy projects, targeting a total capacity of 47,500 MW from 2025 to 2035, with an investment of about 20-25 billion USD. The projects include solar and wind energy across various provinces. VinEnergo, a newly established company of Phạm Nhật Vượng, holds 71% of the shares and contributes over 2,300 billion VND in capital. This initiative showcases Vingroup’s significant ambitions in the energy sector.
