Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, discusses slashing BNB Chain gas fees by 3 to 10 times. Currently, the median gas price on BNB Chain is 1 Gwei, equating to about 0.01 USD per transaction.
In the last 24 hours, BNB Chain processed over 7.2 billion transactions, averaging 0.0945 USD per transaction. In contrast, Ethereum’s average fee is 0.42 USD, while Solana offers a low fee of about 0.0035 USD.
However, excessively reducing fees could lead to issues such as spam and increased workload on validators. Zhao’s aim is to enhance BNB Chain’s competitiveness without sacrificing stability or developer incentives.
