Bitcoin mining’s sustainable energy use is projected to reach 52.4% by early 2025, with renewable sources contributing significantly to this share.

Mining currently consumes 138 TWh annually, yielding around 39.8 MtCO2e in greenhouse gas emissions, marking a 17% year-over-year increase.

Over 57% of Bitcoin miners express concerns about high electricity prices and upcoming regulations, with the U.S. Commerce Department introducing support for the sector.
