In the last 90 days, Bitcoin has managed to process $6.9 trillion in settlements, which is comparable to Visa’s $4.25 trillion and Mastercard’s $2.63 trillion. However, this volume primarily consists of trading and remittance activities.
The economic settlements for Bitcoin, after excluding internal transfers, are estimated to be around $870 billion quarterly. Despite high transaction volumes, only 20,599 merchants worldwide accept Bitcoin payments compared to 175 million for Visa.
