Bitcoin’s transaction drought: Network fees hit 1 satoshi per transfer as mempool clears

The Bitcoin network showed reduced activity around block 890,138, resulting in transaction fees dropping to 1 satoshi per virtual byte, approximately 0.12 USD. With only 500 to 1,311 transactions pending, the mempool was nearly empty.

After reaching block 890,322, transaction activity increased again, accumulating over 3,000 transactions in the mempool and raising fees to 3 to 4 satoshi per virtual byte, indicating a resurgence in blockchain activity.
