BlackRock files to create digital shares tracking one of its money market funds

Asset manager BlackRock has initiated plans to create digital shares for its money market fund, leveraging blockchain technology. The BLF Treasury Trust Fund, valued at approximately $150 million, primarily invests in US Treasury bills.

Investors must commit at least $3 million to obtain these shares, which serve as a transparency tool without tokenization. This development aligns with a growing inclination towards integrating blockchain into financial practices among asset managers.
