BlackRock, Nasdaq seek SEC approval to add staking to BlackRock’s spot Ether ETF

BlackRock and Nasdaq have submitted a proposal to the SEC to include staking in the iShares Ethereum Trust. If approved, this will enhance the fund’s attractiveness to investors by allowing it to earn staking rewards.

Other fund managers like 21Shares and Grayscale are also pursuing SEC permission for staking, following a trend to improve returns in Ethereum-related ETFs. Previously, firms had to retract staking options due to regulatory concerns.
