As of June 2, 2025, rumors suggest that BlackRock might file for a spot XRP ETF. The company, which manages $11 trillion in assets, is currently under scrutiny for its legal challenges with the SEC regarding Ripple.
Previously, it was falsely reported that BlackRock planned to invest $9 trillion in XRP. Legal uncertainties related to Ripple’s compliance with the SEC continue to cast doubt on the ETF filing.
BlackRock has significant investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum, but CEO Larry Fink has not commented on XRP. Other asset managers await SEC decisions on their ETF proposals, with a deadline extension to June 17.
