On August 1, 2025, Blast Furnace No. 1 at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat steel complex resumed stable operations after maintenance. This furnace was serviced after 6 years in operation. Currently, the complex operates 5 furnaces, 4 of which are from the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 Project, with a furnace volume of 1080 m3. In contrast, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Project has a larger furnace volume of 2500m3.
Hoa Phat invests in environmentally compliant technologies and exceeds future emission reduction requirements, especially regarding CO2 emissions and energy efficiency. The largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, Hoa Phat employs a closed-loop model that recycles excess heat and gas for electricity production, achieving 90% self-sufficiency in electricity during steel production, saving 3.5 trillion VND in the first half of 2025. In September 2025, Hoa Phat plans to complete phase 2 of the Dung Quat 2 Project, aiming for a total steel production capacity of 16 million tons per year.
