Blast Furnace No. 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat steel manufacturing complex has produced its first batch of pig iron, marking the completion of Phase 2 of the project. Designed by Danieli Corus (Netherlands), this furnace has a volume of 2500m³ and produces twice the liquid iron of Furnace No. 1, consuming less energy. Hoa Phat is also investing in higher environmental standards, particularly in reducing CO₂ emissions and energy consumption. Advanced European technology enables optimized production processes and cost reductions. With the commissioning of the second furnace, the complex now operates a total of 6 furnaces with an annual capacity of 12 million tons. The project also emphasizes the production of high-quality steel products for various industrial sectors, aiming to elevate the group’s total steel production to 16 million tons per year, placing it among the world’s top 30 steel enterprises.
