BREAKING: ACV Chairman Vu The Phiet Arrested

On March 4, 2026, the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) announced it had received a notice regarding the temporary detention of Vu The Phiet, Chairman of the Board, and Nguyen Tien Viet, Deputy General Director, over allegations of serious violations in bidding processes. Phiet, born in 1973, previously held several key positions at ACV before becoming Chairman in September 2024. Recently, ACV has experienced significant changes in high-level personnel, including the appointment of a new legal representative. Currently, ACV manages and operates 22 airports, including key ones like Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat. The company is also the investor of the Long Thanh International Airport Project, expected to be completed in the first half of 2026. The Prime Minister has required ACV and related agencies to ensure normal operations and expedite project progress.
