British Group Sells 6 Trillion Shares of Vinamilk: Holding REE and THACO, Previously Built Railways in China Since the 19th Century

On December 16, 2025, Platinum Victory Pte. Ltd sold 96.09 million shares of Vinamilk to F&N Dairy Investments at 62,555 VND per share, totaling about 6.011 trillion VND. Following this transaction, Jardine Group’s ownership in Vinamilk dropped from 10.62% to 6.02%. Jardine Matheson, the group behind JC&C, holds a significant stake in THACO (26.6%) and REE (41.6%). The financial report for the first half of 2025 shows that profits from Vietnam reached 36 million USD, up 17% from the previous year, largely driven by THACO and REE. Jardine Matheson is also notable in luxury real estate through Hongkong Land and consumer segments with KFC, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks. The group has a long history in infrastructure development, having built railways in China since the 19th century, and currently supports THACO in major transportation projects.
